Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom First Demo Reveal

Digital entertainment studio Maze Theory and international content distributor, Banijay, in collaboration with Peaky Blinders’ official brand owner and series producer, Caryn Mandabach Productions, are excited to reveal the first demo, and accompanying assets, for VR game Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom, inspired by the iconic TV Series.

Watch the trailer here:

Players will – for the first time – be able to engage in virtual reality with Tommy Shelby and his brother Arthur Shelby. Players will also be introduced to a brand new Peaky Blinders character, Rowena, a distant relative of the Shelby brothers, who will set them on their mission, from the back of a van in Small Heath.

Maze Theory will also reveal a first look at iconic locations from the TV Series such as Charlie’s Yard and the infamous Garrison Lane and The Garrison pub.

The game is set in the world of the Peaky Blinders, in 1928 (between Series 4 and series 5) and features the same canon as the TV Series, bringing fans face-to-face with the iconic, feared and revered characters, and the notorious locations of 1920s London and Birmingham, in an immersive gaming experience.

Players will navigate a thrilling underworld, through a deep and memorable new story, full of danger, allies, and enemies.

Creator, Steven Knight, says: “I’m in awe of this groundbreakingly life-like experience. Delighted that fans, for the first time, can virtually immerse themselves into the ‘Peaky Blinders’ world. I’m keen to see how the audience reacts to this new storytelling medium and coming face-to-face with the Shelbys, as they become a part of the story and a member of the Peaky Blinders. The Venice Film Festival has always been my favourite and I hope it will be kind to the Peaky Blinders.”

Russ Harding, Chief Creative Officer, Maze Theory says: “We are proud to be creating an authentic and high quality Peaky Blinders experience in virtual reality, which will give fans and VR enthusiasts something entirely new and extremely thrilling.

Being selected for Venice Immersive is a fantastic accolade as we move forward on our pathway to launch.”

Susan Waddell, Managing Director, Caryn Mandabach Productions, says: “We are thrilled for this new VR game to get the recognition it deserves – so much hard work has gone into making it. We know fans of the tv series love the immersive nature of the show and its exciting that we are getting closer to Maze being able to share it with audiences.
